The Ocean Race Newport Stopover will take place from May 13 – 21.
The Parade of Sailors in the race will be on May 21 @ 12:00 PM

Eat, drink, laugh and learn in beautiful Newport, RI
Sunday May 21 from 9:30am to 2:00pm
A day dedicated to fun and friendship for all ABClub/USPS members and their friends. And this year, you can join many other boating enthusiasts as we watch the start of Leg 5 of The Ocean Race, a 32,000 nautical mile competitive sail from Alicante, Spain to Genova, Italy, visiting nine iconic international cities over a six-month period.
Our morning agenda will feature a presentation from Whale and Dolphin Conservation USA. Members of WDC will present an instructive and fascinating discussion on boating safety around whales and how to interact safely with marine mammals and other water species.
After brunch, we can head down to Thames Street to watch The Ocean Race parade or stay at the historical building watching America’s Boating Channel videos before either driving to Fort Adams State Park at 2:00 to watch the start of the next leg in The Ocean Race or joining Club members as we take a tour of The Newport Sailing Museum at 365 Thames Street. Explore hands-on exhibits on Wind and Water, the Legends of Sailing, and learn about the making of a sailor and the building of teamwork. Discover what happens at the top of the sport when sailors perform at their highest level.
