28 July Paddle (Tuesday) – Childs River to the Washburn State Park spit on Nantucket Sound to picnic. Launch at 1000, Whites Landing Public Boat Ramp, just beyond 23 Whites Landing Road, East Falmouth. From Route 28 in East Falmouth, turn south on Whites Landing Road and drive to the end to unload. GPS coordinates: 41°34’43.82″N, -70°31’54.47″W.
Allow time to unload near the ramp, move your vehicle, and launch promptly. Alternate weather date, Wednesday, 29 July, at 1100. Leader Glenn Greenough. Contact Joan and Evan Croft: CapeRedhouse@comcast.net or (508)420-9023.
Be prepared with safety equipment: Wear a lifejacket and tie on a whistle, stow a bailer and tow rope, cellphone (sealed in a waterproof bag), etc. Leaders will have a marine radio. Bring a picnic, sunscreen, hat, enough water or other beverage for hydration, beach towel for picnic, etc. Do not bring food to share due to COVID-19.
Paddling is a great on-the-water distancing opportunity while visiting with club friends during COVID-19 restrictions. Bring a mask to wear if necessary or individually preferred. Following CDC guidelines, if you know you have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 or have symptoms, please do not participate.
